Please try the test updates of hal-cups-utils and desktop-printing.

yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update 'hal-cups-utils*'
yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update 'desktop-printing*'

This should fix the dialog so that it actually causes the selected
printer model to be used.
