That is quite easy to do, just add pam_ssh and set it up in
your /etc/pam.d/gdm.

I also have pam_keyring to open up my gnome-keyring so I just type in my
password once I can SSH to my other boxes and also connect to secure WAP
without having to type a password.

Of course my logging password is the same as my private key and
gnome-keyring.
