Don't forget that modem speeds are the theoretical maximum possible
speeds, not necessarily that it's the speed you'll use.  Also, that'll
be the speed between you and your ISP, external sources might have
limits that make it slower.  And to check whether they're rating speeds
in bits or bytes per second.
