FC6 and Network

I stand corrected on the <Stickler> ;-))

No response on the ping -b. I Ctrl C'd out of it and it says 97 packets send 0 received 100% loss.

Uhm, not it's not. 255.255.248.0 is not a class C it's a super net.
That may be correct for your super net.

BTW, try doing (as root) a ping -b 255.255.255.255 . See what responds.
