Convert standard SATA to AHCI?

Hi,

Is their a safe way to change the SATA driver that was installed when I install Fedora with my BIOS set to Enhanced Mode  to  AHCI, to take full advantage of NCQ?

I can change the setting in my BIOS, but I need a safe way to change the driver the kernel will boot with.
