You wanted all the mirrors hosted by the project under the same control. 
Thats not just one file.  If we dont host all the mirrors, we wouldnt be 
able to know how many hits the individual mirrors get. This is really 
simple.

I seen *nobody* express a privacy concern over *anonymous update logs*. 
If anyone has a single reasonable concern over it, do let us know.

That is about introducing say a first boot feature which gives users the 
ability to opt in and provide more features. Kindly read the archive of 
the FAB list that I pointed out earlier for more details.

If you want to not even let the project collect anonymous hits you just 
have to use a local mirror.
