ntpd and kernel message set_rtc_mmss: can't update

If you look in /etc/ntp.conf you should see that, that is a reference to the 
local clock. You shouldn't need to use the local clock if you are referencing 
Internet time servers, so can delete that one, as well as commenting out the 
local time server, and fudge in /etc/ntp.conf.

for what it's worth, there was a lot of stuff setup in /etc/ntp.conf that 
wasn't necessary for a home user. All I have now are 3 stratum 2 servers, 
which I have selected myself, under the "Our Timeservers" section, and the 
driftfile in /var/lib/ntp/drift.
