Konqueror will not run from menu in FC6

Why 'root' I wonder?  Did you have a crash at some time while using konq in 
super-user mode?

I'd try deleting /tmp/ksocket-root and /tmp/kde-root (as root, of course) then 
ctrl-alt-backspace.
