I've got this new Western Digital MyBook 500GB external hard drive, but
when I plug it in, it's not recognized correctly. There doesn't seem to
be any corresponding devices in /dev/. It looks like some errors:
dmesg gives:
usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
usb 3-1: device descriptor read/8, error -75
usb 3-1: device descriptor read/8, error -75
usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3
usb 3-1: device descriptor read/8, error -75
usb 3-1: device descriptor read/8, error -75
usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 4
/sbin/lsusb gives:
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 004: ID 0928:ffff Oxford Semiconductor, Ltd
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
I'm running Fedora Core 4.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
