best way to upgrade?

Phil, I just ran into a nightmarish upgrade scene when doing a fc4->fc5
upgrade because I was using thirdparty repos.  I was able to digg myself
out, but I'll never do that again.  I can't say anything about fc5->fc6,
because I didn't attempt an upgrade when I moved to fc6.
