2006 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux
And I've done the below.
[root at localhost ~]# echo "Fedora Core release 5 (Bordeaux)"
> /etc/fedora-release
[root at localhost ~]# ln -s /etc/fedora-release /etc/redhat-release
Has this made it any clearer to you, because I'm a little lost now.
The DVD install was definitely FC5 as the above confirms.
