I've recently switched to Slypheed-Claws (its in extras), and like pretty much everything
about it - especially the fact that it won't do html mail with activating extra plugins. Now
I just get the relevant text stripped out of the html without all the dancing monkeys
blowing out birthday candles in the background :-).

By default it stores mail in MH format, so you get all the individual files.
