Hangs on Boot on 2.6.17-1.2471 and ASUS M2NPV-VM Motherboard

Hi all,

My ASUS M2NPV-VM motherboard with AMD Athlon X2 3800+ would not
boot kernel 2.6.17-1.2471, whereas it booted 2.6.15-1.2054 fine.
Brand new install from FC5 downloaded media for x86_64.
Did a "yum update" to get the new kernel and the hang occurred.

I just filed Bugzilla report against FC5 kernel:

Any information gathering method or workaround would be appreciated.
