turning on the wireless card

Try this:

1. Login as root
2. telinit 3
3. Login as root again
4. Press <Fn> + <F2> -- this toggles the wireless feature on and off
5. Execute this:
# /sbin/service network start
6. Look out for any messages.

If it doesn't work, go back to step 4 and try again.
