my settings are:
mplayerplug-in-3.31-1.lvn5
xmmplayer-0.3.3-5.lvn5
mplayer-fonts-1.1-3.lvn5
mplayer-gui-1.0-0.46.pre8.lvn5
mplayer-1.0-0.46.pre8.lvn5

it works with clips at
http://www.unoriginal.co.uk/footage52_4.html
but not with
http://media.smh.com.au/?sy=smh&category=bulletin&rid=22122&source=smh.com.au%2F&t=24G8UJ&player=wm6&rate=354&flash=0&ie=0
