I like the SCSI Adaptec cards.  I've used the 2120S a lot (fairly cheap
single-channel), but the 2130 (more capable) and the 2230 (dual channel
2130) also work a treat.  Their SATA controllers are pretty good, too,
but I don't have a lot of experience with them under Linux.
