sounds stopped suddenly?

Phil,
I had this problem in FC5 at one point. I think it was an issue with my 
alsa drivers (problem occured while using skype and oss). I build the 
latest version of the alsa drivers from source and things worked from 
then on. I haven't experienced this in FC6 yet though.
