There's tools that will do both at the same time.  Since it seems to be
JPEGs that you're concerned with, I'd use a tool specifically for them,
rather than more general file tools.  I can't remember what I used, but
I'd used one to set file dates to reflect the image-taking time and
date.  That made photo collection browsing simple to do with any tool.
