If you decide to put it in rc.local, you will need to redirect the
I/O. I don't remember if you need to redirect the input or output of
the setterm command. (You would think it would be output, but
setting a VT gets tricky - commands like reset require you to
redirect the input for them to work correctly.) In any case, setterm
needs to be "connected" to a VT in order to work. When rc.local
runs, it is not connected to a VT...
