Problem with PDF's in Firefox

Have you tried uninstalling the Adobe plugin?

 /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins would be a more likely place for it to be.

However, I myself have a symbolic link in ~/.mozilla/plugins/
to  /usr/local/Adobe/Acrobat7.0/Browser/intellinux/nppdf.so
and it works fine.
