Issues with AMD AM2 and NVIDIA 590 (GA-M59SLI-S5)

Is anyone else aware of linux kernel issues around the AMD AM2 and/or  
NVidia 590 chipset?  I've submitted several bug reports and from what  
I gather from the replies and other postings there appears to be  
issues running back to last August, but when I do a bugzilla search I  
don't find a lot of information.  Seems like it's a well known fact  
that most folks need to use NOAPIC when booting - and this issue isn't  
limited to a specific distribution. Looks like a pervasive issue.
