That's the best solution for me, as well. Plus, you have the added
benefit of reading threads as they were meant to be read. The
instructions on how to set up Thunderbird are right there in Gmail and
although they are for v1.5, there is no significant difference between
the versions when it comes to the setup instructions. Also, you can
copy your Thunderbird profile between different machines and OSs and
all your folders and settings remain as you have configured them.
