It would help if we knew:
* Did you install grub?
* If so, where? To the master boot record (MBR) or the boot record for
a Linux partition (and if so which one)?
* If the latter, what did you do to ensure that the boot sequence
would get to that partition's boot record?
* What do you do as the system boots, and what do you see on the
screen?
* Can you boot Windows? If so do you see any deviations from a normal
Windows boot sequence? If not, where does it fail and what do you
see?
* What kind of hardware? That is especially important if this is a
laptop.
Please give us something to go on.
