Hi,
I get a kernel panic with the 2.6.22.1-41.fc7 kernel.
My system:
----------
Board: MSI K9A Platinum (AMD RD580)
CPU: Athlon64 X2
HDD: attached to SATA
BIOS setting for SATA: Native IDE
Cool'n'Quiet is disabled
I'm running Fedora 7 x86-64
My grub.conf:
-------------
default=0
timeout=5
splashimage=(hd0,7)/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz
hiddenmenu
title Windows XP SP2
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
chainloader +1
title Fedora 7 (2.6.22.1-41.fc7)
root (hd0,7)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.22.1-41.fc7 ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb quiet
initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.22.1-41.fc7.img
title Fedora 7 (2.6.21-1.3228.fc7)
root (hd0,7)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.21-1.3228.fc7 ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb quiet
initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.21-1.3228.fc7.img
My fstab:
---------
tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
#Entry for /dev/sda8 :
LABEL=/ / ext3 defaults 1 1
#Entry for /dev/sda10 :
LABEL=/home /home ext3 defaults 1 2
#Entry for /dev/sda9 :
LABEL=SWAP-sda9 swap swap defaults 0 0
The error I'm getting on boot:
------------------------------
Unable to access resume device (LABEL=SWAP-sda9)
mount: could not find filesystem '/dev/root'
setuproot: moving /dev failed
(several similar lines like the one above)
Kernel panic: not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
Any suggestions? 2.6.21-1.3228 works fine.
Thanks in advance
Timo
