Reminds me of a "problem" I had a couple of years ago with a scanner.
All I could get out of it was black scans. I messed with it for days.
posted on SANE mailing lists. You can imagine how embarrassed I was when
discovered the problem was: 1) the underside of the cover over the
scanner bed was black, and 2) I had neglected to put an image on
the glass! Duh!!!
