Actually, I rather expect that there will be ipv6 between ISPs and
major nodes, while ipv4 will remain the standard for a very long time
in local networks.

The pressure on ipv4 was grealy relieved with wide acceptance of RFC1918;
and there is a *lot* of work involved in making ipv6 the accepted standard
for all networks.

$0.02, YMMV, but 30+ years of experience on my end.
