skype mate of Fedora 8

Thank you.  I was able to get SkypeMate installed but it still doesn't allow my USB telephone to work correctly.  I can hear and talk but pressing the numbers on the keypad do nothing.
I am not totally sure my system "knows" that I have even plugged the USB phone in.
