kpowersave does not activate profile after logon

Chris, after a little more research, it seems the problem is kernel 
related. The previously described behavior of kpowersave only occurs 
with kernel 2.6.23.8-63. The same version of kpowersave works ok with 
kernel 2.6.23.1-49.fc8. I also have other problems with the newer 
kernel (can't connect to wireless networks using iwl3945 and sounds are 
being played with echoes).
