where does gdmsetup hide the "Welcome" text in Fedora 8?
/etc/X11/gdm/ is empty [actually I think I may have created it]

and in /etc/gdm
I can see other changes I made, like

and when I type "This computer will explode in...", into gdmsetup's Local tab
-> Welcome Message -> Custom: area, it shows up on the front of gdm, so I know
it is changing it some where, but it is not in /etc/gdm/custom.conf.

even `find /etc/ -newer RCS/custom.conf,v` does not find me a file containing
the text I typed in.

I need to be able to make the modification with out using a GUI, because I
need this done using a script as folks do the install (aka an anaconda post
script).

because adding "Welcome=from the file." to /etc/gdm/custom.conf in the
"[greeter]" section does not work as the manual[1] indicates it should, So in
which file do I make my mod?

Or have I just stumbled across something that needs to be in bugzilla?
