How I "turn-on" e-mail?

I'm on FC5.

I'm a Linux newbie.

I can see sendmail running on my host:

bash sb2 root /etc/mail 61 # ps -ef|grep -i send
root      4606     1  0 Jan31 ?        00:00:00 sendmail: accepting
connections
smmsp     4614     1  0 Jan31 ?        00:00:00 sendmail: Queue runner at 01:00:00
for /var/spool/clientmqueue

bash sb2 root /etc/mail 62 #

And I can connect to port 25 on localhost:

bash sb2 root /etc/sysconfig 24 # telnet sb2.local 25

But...
I cannot connect to port 25 when I come from other hosts.

I'm looking for some general advice on how to configure this host so
it will receive e-mail.

I assume that in that advice will be some clues on how to turn on
port 25 to other hosts.

How do I "turn-on" in-coming mail?
