Xorg Uses at least 18% of the cpu

Are you using Nvidia's non-free binary kernel module?  If so, remove the 
module and revert to Xorg's free nv driver.  You may need to reinstall all 
Xorg packages; in some instances Nvidia's installer overwrites Xorg's 
libraries.

If X still chews up the CPU with Xorg's nv driver, report it in Bugzilla. If 
X works correctly after you removed Nvidia's binary module, take it up with 
Nvidia.
