Volume buttons angry with applet

Friends, 

My Gnome Volume up/down/mute gnome buttons doesnt control the audio.
Seems like both (buttons and applet) cant speak between them: Aiming the
volume control applet and moving the mouse wheel turns the volume UP or
DOWN. Thats ok. b) Pressing the keyboard volume buttons pops up the
little volume window and scrolls the bar up/down. But doesnt have effect
on the audio!!!

Googled/search on list and cant find nothing similar. I need to use the
keyboard volume buttons.
