Paul, I have Xp on sda1 and FC6/ubuntuCE on hda1. This is what I have in my grub to boot to windows. You have to fool Windoz into thinking it is in control of boot file.

title Windows XP
    rootnoverify (hd1,0)
    map (hd0) (hd1)
    map (hd1) (hd0)
    makeactive
    chainloader +1
 Myron

P.S. Grub doesn't make a distinction between sata and ide drives, to my knowledge.

Dear All

I have two hard disks in my machine:

* hda --> Fedora Core 6;
* hdb --> Windows XP.

In grub.conf, I have the following:

title Windows XP
        rootnoverify (hd1,0)
        makeactive
        chainloader +1

but I cannot boot into Windows XP. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Paul
