Removing duplicate apps after FC6 upgrade from FC5

I had to go through this malarkey with a fresh installation of FC6, it
borked itself with the yum update daemon that was set to run by default,
but apparently broken as designed. I went through "rpm -e"ing the
duplicates, far less painful than using yum.

important to the thread.)
