If you have Extras enabled in your yum configuration:
yum install ntfs-3g
This installs an NTFS FUSE (Filesystem in Userspace) module, well suited
for most uses of any such filesystems you may have.

http://rpm.livna.org/ has fairly complete media player coverage. Add
it's repo information to your yum config (install the livna-release RPM
to make this easy) and "yum install mplayer" (or xine, depending on your
preference)
