That's your big clue.  You're not going to be able to email anyone from
an address using localhost.localdomain as the domain name.  You need to
look into masquerading, so that the domain name is a real one (one that
you can receive mail at, when combined with your usename left of the @
sign).

Alternatively, don't use the command line "mail" client, use something
else that lets you set your own "from" address.
