When I attempt writing, one drive is internal the other drive is always
external so they are not sharing the same bus and nothing else is on the
IDE Bus (The hard disk is SATA)

I will check the hdparm to see if DMA is enabled or not and switch it to
opposite what it is now to see if that makes a difference.
