nvidia drivers worth installing?

I have an nvidia geforce 6100 on board a biostar micro atx motherboard.
i'm running FC6 (in 32 bit mode - even though the CPU is 64-bit). i have
630 MB of ram (i think). i'm having some funkiness with graphics. it
seems graphics are choppy and slow. 

would installing the nvidia drivers help? is this process of installing
a pain in the kiester?
