new usb problem with livna kernel

Kismet! I just happen to be doing that myself. I'm trying to get the
knod-nvidia package from livna for the .2888 kernel and it's dragging in
the .2869 kernel from updates. That might be a plus since things have
gone to heck in a handbasket with 2888 and 2895 it seems to me. We'll
see. I had xine working just fine, watched LOA for a bit, selected
another music video and it crapped out, even after rm'ing the .xine
folder again. The file works just peachy with mplayer.  

I thought I had it beat. Someone just kill me now as this is maddening.
Maybe I should just get some sandals, a pedicure and buy a frappin' Mac.
Nah... I detest Jobs too much, along with Gates. Plus the Ubuntu people
have their own share of stuff to wade through, so I'm just stuck with
you guys trying to figure it all out. <sigh>
