I see this problem is assigned a low priority.

As much as I dislike poking into another project's business...does 
anyone have a gut feeling about when a fix might roll out?

I'm getting some pressure from vnc users about the panel widgets not 
being present, and have basically been told to workaround within 8 weeks.

Any gut feelings? I'm woefully lost as far as what would cause this.

I am more than willing to actively monitor the bz, query the gnome or 
X11 lists, download, patch, rebuild .src/test/debug RPMs, provide test 
support on a variety of machines/architectures.

If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.
