Customization for a small system. Fedora 6 or 7 ?

Either, they appear to be much the same size for minimal environments and
7 will be maintained for longer.

If you do an FC6 or 7 install and turn off every category of software
offered you get a fairly sane basic install. You can then add back X11
and a small desktop if you want (eg Xfce and claws-mail)
