I see from another message that you found the file. For more
information on the files and their contents, you may want to read:

/usr/share/doc/initscripts-<version>/sysconfig.txt

I had not realized that you could not boot at all. I thought you
were experiencing the timeout delay while it tries to configure the
interface. When I have experienced this in the past, the machine
would continue to boot after a delay of up to 2 minutes...
