updated kernel panics with dhcp

Well, not any time soon. I don't have any spare systems around to hook 
up to and I have too many other things to do at this point to make a 
project out of it.

I hate to think about what a problem like this means as new updates come 
along. I guess I'll just stick with the one that works for now.
