Opps.. should have added an "\n" to the end of the query format string to make the output more readable.

Maybe try:

rpm -aq --qf "%{ARCH} %{NAME}\n" | grep '^i586'

to see if you any i586 packages installed? My FC7 system (upgraded from FC6) has no i586 packages installed.

    Try running:

     rpm -q --qf "%{NAME}-%{VERSION}-%{RELEASE} %{ARCH}" kernel kernel-devel

This should help identify which i586 RPM might have been loaded.

    Jonathan,

No i586 kernel got installed. It is just that yum wants to install it. Here's the information you have requested

    [olivares at localhost ~]$ rpm -q --qf "%{NAME}-%{VERSION}-%{RELEASE} %{ARCH}" kernel kernel-devel

  Jonathan,

No i586 kernels are installed. I just wonder why yum wants to install them.

[olivares at localhost ~]$ rpm -aq --qf "%{ARCH} %{NAME}\n" | grep '^i586'
[olivares at localhost ~]$

Regards,

Antonio
