scrambled panel & x-session loss: update

It's something to do with your fonts... I updated an old laptop
partially to F7 over the weekend and had exactly the same problem.  I
had updated all the xorg* packages but had not restarted xfs.  After
that it was happy IIRC

service xfs restart
