My laptop display configuration is buggered!

Hi list,

I am using an HP notebook that has an ati graphics card (mobile x200
or so), and when I try to install the ati proprietary drivers the
software installs but the catalyst software complains that the driver
does not contain the FireGL extensions.

I am hoping that someone might be able to assist?
