Firefox keeps exiting under Fedora-7

I have a curious problem with Firefox
on one laptop (ThinkPad T23) upgraded to Fedora-7.

About 1 time in 4, when I click on an URL in kmail,
Firefox starts - so that I see the page in question -
but then exits after a second or two.
It isn't a crash - it seems to exit gracefully.

Though when I re-start Firefox I'm told 
"Your last Firefox session closed unexpectedly",
and I am asked if I want to re-start the last session or start afresh.

Has anyone had the same symptoms?

I'm running Firefox 2.0.0.4.
