I have yet to install F7 but I use fetchmail / procmail / spamassasin
with an imap server on my lan.

Evolution does no filtering of its own.
Works very well this way in FC6 - and has for me since FC4 when I
started using it.

I can also use any e-mail client I choose w/o any import/export stuff
needed. They all just work - as long as they support imap.
