Sata controler using ata driver?

Hi list
My new 250Gb SATA drive is making a clicking noise from time to time, starting 
approximately 10 minuets or so from boot up. I just fired up the hardware 
browser and its telling me its using ata_generic driver for a nVida mcp61 
chip. Is this normal?
