Can I access the harddrive using liveCD

If you are using FAT or VFAT, then yes. I don't know about NTFS,
though.

Possibly the reason you couldn't see the drive is that you tried
looking for it as /dev/hda; try /dev/sda instead. F7 uses libata,
which has the peculiar effect of making IDE drives appear to be SCSI
drives.
